The title of Ken's book is taken from the pencil written letter of Private Jim Elwell who was transfered from the South Staffordshire Territorials to the hard-hit 7th Battalion The Suffolk Regiment with whom he served in France. Ken has based his book on the 53 letters, postcards and greetings cards sent by Private Elwell, which give a first hand account of life in the trenches during The Great War.
