Inscription reads:- This bible was presented to Benjamin Walker by a few Christian Friends in Gloucester as a memorial of his ernest and self denying labours in trying to rescue the 22 unfortunate miners who lost their lives at the fatal accident at the Pelsall Hall Colliery.

The Presentation Date is recorded as 2nd December 1872.
