The Old Miner
Years ago I worked as a barmaid at The Swan pub on the Wolverhampton Road Pelsall. One day I was working in the lounge when I heard the door open in the bar room, so I went through into the bar to serve whoever was there. However as I went through I saw an old miner sitting by the window (he was black with coal dust, he had a miners hat on and a string tied just below his knee, he also wore an old fashioned work coat). He looked up at me and nodded, I nodded back and went back to the lounge bar where the manager was. I told him that he should go take a look in the bar, he went through to the bar, seconds later he came running back jumped over the bar shouting his suprise and shock at me! I was laughing so hard, (as ghosts do not frighten me ) I was crying. Seconds later the miner had vanished, however he was seen many times over the years.
