The Civic Society organised a veteran's evening on 11-11-2008 to both thank the veterans and commemorate 90 years since the end of WW1, the event included a buffet supper followed by an outstanding performance by Black Country Wordsmith,poet/comedian David Bartley.

20 veterans and their partners/friends plus 20 friends and members of the society attended the event. A great time was had by all, a similar event was held two years ago attended by the veterans they enjoyed so much we decided to organise another one. A big thank you goes to David Bartley who gave his time free of charge on both occasions.
